Social Commitments
Wise Connections is an inclusive workplace that embraces diversity in all its forms.
In our efforts to make social and sustainability improvements, we purchase uniforms and office supplies from the following suppliers.
Trademutt – social enterprise company
Who Gives A Crap – Certified B Corporation
We happily recommend event suppliers who, in addition to providing excellent event services or products, contribute to social improvements. We have recently worked with the following suppliers.
AV1 - Certified B Corporation
Corban & Blair – Certified B Corporation working in collaboration with Aboriginal artists
Lasercraft – Australian Disability Enterprise
We recognise that the basics of accessible events are physical environments, information sources, and service attitudes without barriers. We encourage our clients to deliver accessible events.
Equal Opportunity
We offer equal opportunity to all staff regardless of gender, disability, nationality, race, sexual orientation, or religion. Remuneration is based on expertise.
Recognition, Respect and Celebration of First Nations People
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Country where we work and live.
We pay our respects to Elders past and present. We extend that respect to all First Nations People.
We celebrate the stories, culture, traditions, and spiritual connections to the lands, waters, and skies, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Our vision for reconciliation:
Wise Connections is committed to reconciliation, with a fair, just and equitable Australia that is reconciled and in doing so provides opportunities and equal outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, but in particular for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children attending children’s education and care services across Australia.
Wise Connections recognises and affirms that reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians is the responsibility of all Australians.
Wise Connections acknowledges the unique status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and Traditional Custodians of this Land.
Environmental Sustainability
Wise Connections recognises that events are fantastic for facilitating human connections, but also recognises that events can have negative environmental impact. We continually drive improvements in waste reduction, and aim to eliminate other negative impacts of events.
Wise Connections is a signatory to the Meetings & Events Australia Sustainability Charter. We learn from the resources offered by our peak industry associations, including the sustainable event management training course on how to achieve the next level of best practice to ISO standards.
